A conversation, not a lecture.
Interactive education, not a PowerPoint presentation. We talk with you, not at you. It’s mutual, human, and grounded in story.
At Grief Talks, we believe every form of grief deserves attention – that’s why we create spaces where people can talk honestly, learn practical tools and feel less alone in life challenges regardless of whether you’re sat in the boardroom, classroom or your own living room.
Combining lived experience and professional expertise, we are here to showcase that talking about the hard stuff doesn’t always have to be a sombre experience – it can be enlightening and empowering, too.
If you’re grieving yourself, supporting someone else, or trying to build safer, more compassionate spaces in your school or workplace, we’re here to help.
”I thought this would be heavy—but I left feeling lighter.

Katrina Shaw is a qualified Counsellor, public speaker and trained facilitator. Her passion and advocacy as a grief specialist in particular, is shaped by much of her own life with the death of her mum as a teen and more recently navigating infertility, recurrent miscarriage and motherhood. She gently blends storytelling and evidence-informed strategies to ensure audiences leave with tangible and effective tools for their own belt.
Starting as the first appointed ambassador for Child Bereavement UK back in 2015, Katrina naturally progressed to become founder of Grief Talks Education and is regularly termed the ‘grief-girl’ for her community contributions and awareness efforts. From working with primary school aged children to sharing knowledge with business leaders and their teams, her ability to break down barriers and adapt to a variety of audiences allows her to create spaces of vulnerability, connection and most of all, hope.
Alongside grief, Katrina’s work has now extended to speaking on topics such as communication, leadership, mental wellbeing and parenthood. Her desire to create sustainable change has led her to build strong partnerships with local councils and not for profits, resulting in her long-term facilitation of community programs in partnership with Western Bulldogs Football Club.
If you work with Katrina, don’t expect her to turn up with a serious expression or wearing black. A bubbly, colourful human who embodies the message of her work (and that of Albus Dumbledore)…”happiness can be found in the darkest of places, if one only remembers to turn on the light”.
